A new reality: from conventional maintenance to
PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE
of engines, hydraulic plants, reduction gears, compressors, etc. …

A simple lubricant oil sample collection allows, through metal particle analysis, to monitor running conditions of analysed machinery and to forecast possible problems connected with mechanical wear and malfunctioning of various components. At the same time lubricant analysis allows to value the efficiency of lubricant and to establish appropriate time for its change.

Oil, as blood in case of human body, provides many important information concerning the "health" of machinery.

In case of efficient lubrication of mechanical parts metal surfaces are separated by strong lubricant film.

In case of scarce lubrication the thickness of lubricant film is reduced and metal surfaces touch each other and this determinates removal of metal particles and consequently wear and tear of machinery.

Different types of those particles (iron, copper, tin, aluminium, chromium etc.) accumulate in lubricant oil and their unusual increase may indicate some machinery trouble.

Oil analysis indicates external pollution substances presence: silicone dust from air (evaluation of filter effectiveness), water, acids, combustible substances etc.
Oil control and monitoring allows to guarantee constant efficiency of lubrication, to optimize consumption and consequently purchase and disposal costs.

Sampling
To enable correct and “clean” lubricant oil sample collection NILS SPA proposes practical sampling set as follows: suction pump, 14 pieces of 150ml bottles (in flat format to facilitate mailing), sampling tube.

Filtration and microscope observation
Direct observation of polluting particles and their identification allows us to determinate pollution degree of oil and to prevent and avoid eventual malfunctioning.

Iron-graphic analysis
Morphological and quantitative analysis of metal particles allows us to understand type of wear and its stage.
